The light at sunset is heroic, making even the most mundane scene filled with importance. This Hereford cow's profile was regal. I marveled at the back lighting which raised a fiery fringe on the cow's back and little bits of brightness under her neck. The cow was standing in a muddy pasture near the water trough. The dingy dirt browns of her surroundings and fellow cows in shadow served as a foil to the glow surrounding her profile. This was a special moment.
